Got Fines?

Wayne College Library has a solution!

During the month of  October the library will be collecting the following items for the Wayne County Humane Society in lieu of library fines:

• Dry kitten / cat food
• Dry dog / puppy food
• Canned cat / dog food
• Cat litter

One item donated will equal one dollar off accrued fines.  Bagged items will be given a one dollar credit for every pound.

When paying fines with cash, patrons will be given a 50% discount on the total fine owed.  We will only accept cash, no Zipcards.  Sorry, we cannot forgive charges associated with lost materials replacement as part of this fine forgiveness campaign.

If you do not have any library fines, the library will accept any contributions to help the Humane Society.  See a full list of the most urgent needs on their website.

Cutest RESCUE Pet Contest!

Have you rescued a pet from a shelter? The Library will be holding a Cutest RESCUE Pet Contest in conjunction with the Fine Forgiveness Campaign. Students, Faculty, and Staff are invited to submit a photo of your RESCUE pet by picking up an entry form in the library. The deadline to enter is Tuesday, October 9, 2012. The First 12 entries will be displayed in the library October 15-31, 2012 . Your pet’s photo will be attached to a piggy bank and the pet that receives the most donations will be crowned Cutest RESCUE Pet! All of the money collected will be donated to the Wayne County Humane Society. The Cutest RESCUE Pet’s owner will receive a $25.00 giftcard to Petco. If you don’t have a rescue pet to enter, you can help the animals out at the Humane Society by voting with your pocket change. New Materials added to the Wayne College Library

Stop by the library to browse the new materials shelves to see our most recently purchased items.  View our online New Materials List and follow the links to the UA Libraries catalog to view descriptions and availability (simply click on the call number).  You can place a hold on individual items by clicking on the “Request” button in the catalog.  In addition, you can view many of our newest titles on Wayne College Library’s Pinterest page.

Check out the new health and nursing books.  These books may be of particular interest for students who are taking classes in these majors with their projects or papers.

Library Workshop Quiz Score Availability Extended

Good news! The library has released access to older library workshop quiz scores going back to the 2008-9 school year. Please check with your course instructors to see if they will accept older quiz scores. See the library staff if you need help or have questions!
